Land Legacy Committee

The purpose of the Land Legacy Program Committee meetings is to evaluate the role and activities of the Land Legacy Program and to make any land acquisition or other recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Land Legacy Committee Meetings

  • Tuesday, December 5th, 2022 at4 4:00 PM. Agenda items include: the Land Legacy Committee will be touring Nadaka Nature Park followed by discussion at a nearby location about EMSWCD’s role in Urban Access to Nature projects – past, present and future.
  • Monday, October 17th, 2022 at 5:00 PM. Agenda items include: discussion and review of strategic planning efforts specific to the Land Legacy Program.
  • Monday, July 25th, 2022 at 5:00 PM – CANCELLED. Meeting will be held at EMSWCD’s Mainstem Farm property. Agenda items include: Recommendations for use and programming of the Gordon Creek Farm property as identified by the Farm Access Equity Advisory Group. This meeting has been cancelled – The contents of this meeting will be covered in EMSWCD’s August 1st, 2022 Board of Directors meeting, taking place at Headwaters Farm.
  • Monday, May 23rd, 2022 at 4:00 PM. Agenda items include: Demographic data on farm ownership/access, and preliminary themes for use and programming of the Gordon Creek Farm property as identified by the Farm Access Equity Advisory Group.
  • Monday, March 28th, 2022 at 4:00 PM. Agenda items include: A conversation with members of EMSWCD’s Farm Access Equity Advisory Group and a discussion of strategic planning considerations for the Land Legacy Program focused on possible farm access and farm access equity interventions.
  • Monday, January 31st, 2022 at 4:00 PM. Agenda items include: A discussion of strategic planning considerations for the Land Legacy Program, an update on EMSWCD’s Farm Access Equity Initiative, a briefing on staff monitoring work for working farmland easements and agricultural management plans, and an Executive Session under ORS 192.660(2)(e) held for real estate negotiations.
