Conservation of our District’s natural resources is a complex task. Sometimes the most effective way to advance our goals and program work is to help support others in doing the work. We developed our Grants and Cost Share programs as a way to provide our partners with the financial and technical resources to tackle diverse conservation projects and conservation education within the District.
Grant assistance / Asistencia para subvenciones
Do you need help writing a grant application or pulling information together for a report? Are you having trouble with the reimbursement process? Free assistance from a private consultant is available for new and smaller non-profit organizations that meet certain criteria! We will be prioritizing requests from those representing and/or serving primarily BIPOC communities. Learn more in the documents linked below (in English and Spanish).
Grants Assistance (in English) – Asistencia para subvenciones (en español)
- Students gather to help plant a rain garden at a grant-funded project site.
We understand that all conservation projects are a little different, so we offer a variety of types of grants! Smaller community projects may need only resources on a short-term basis, while larger restoration project may require several years and many thousands of dollars to complete. Private land owners often wrestle with natural resource issues, but may not have the technical expertise or financial resources to address the problem. Finally, some projects do not lend themselves to the competitive grant process, but still advance our mission and conservation priorities. We have developed four distinct grant and financial assistance programs to assist and meet these needs:
- Apply: learn about the grant programs and what we fund, and download the application forms and guidelines.
- Learn: explore grant projects and learn more about grants in this section .
- Connect: discuss your project with us and get updates about our grant programs in this section.
The dedication, creativity and hard work of our partners accomplishes great things in the community and we are proud to be a part of it.
