Here are some resources and information on staying cool through this hot weather!
- If you need a place to cool off, Multnomah County has an interactive map of cooling centers, libraries, and water/recreation locations you can cool off at here. You can also find any updated information at their Help for when it’s hot page, and information in additional languages.
- Cooling centers will be open 24 hours a day. Current locations include the Oregon Convention Center, the Arbor Lodge and the Sunrise Center.
- Several Multnomah County libraries will stay open until 6 PM on Friday and from noon to 8 PM Saturday – Monday.
- For transportation needs, TriMet will not turn anyone away if they cannot pay fares during the hot weather, and capacity limits on buses and trains will be temporarily lifted.
If you know of any organizations setting up cooling centers (indoor or outdoor), please encourage them to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org using “extreme heat cooling center” and the county name in the subject line. The 211info.org resource team will get that information added to their list.
