Conservation of our District’s natural resources can be complex. Sometimes the most effective way to advance our goals is not to do the work ourselves, but rather to help support others in doing the work. We developed our Grants and Cost Share Programs as a way to provide our partners with the financial and technical resources to tackle diverse conservation projects and conservation education within the District.
We understand that all projects are not the same and it doesn’t make sense to manage them the same way or offer just a single solution. For example, smaller community projects may need only a limited, short term infusion of resources, while a large restoration project could require several years and many thousands of dollars to complete. Private land owners often wrestle with natural resource issues, but may not have the technical expertise or financial resources to address the problem. On occasion, projects come to our attention that do not lend themselves to the competitive grant process but none-the-less advance our mission and priorities. Our grant and financial assistance programs aim to assist all of these efforts, and we have developed four distinct mechanisms to meet differing needs.

The dedication, creativity and hard work of our partners accomplishes great things in the community and we are proud to be a part of it.
