Farm Access Fundamentals Workshop Series

Access to farmland is one of the biggest challenges facing farmers today. As farmland becomes scarcer and more expensive, we’re working with partners to create opportunities that make farmland more affordable and accessible for current and future generations of farmers.

This year, we’re excited to once again offer a series of three in-person workshops. 

  1. Farm Leasing Fundamentals – Thursday, January 22
    Finding land, common leasing terms, lease agreements, conversations with landowners, and professional support
  2. Fundamentals of Buying Farmland – Thursday, February 5
    Assessing key land attributes, water rights, zoning issues, purchase agreements, and professional support
  3. Financing Your Farmland Purchase – Thursday, February 19
    Farm financials, becoming loan-ready, easements, and a lender panel discussing resources and the lending process 

To close out the series, Rogue Farm Corp will host their popular Changing Hands Workshop on Thursday, March 5.

Schedule

  • Doors open: 9 AM – refreshments/networking
  • Program: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Lunch: To follow (included with registration; please share dietary needs). 
  • Cost: $10 per workshop/$25 for the series.
  • Registration fee(s) are refundable with workshop attendance.

Space is limited! Up to 20 participants per workshop. In the event of space constraints, preference given to farmers who reside, farm, or sell products in Multnomah County east of the Willamette River.
