Sustainability

EMSWCD Sustainability Statement

We are committed to minimizing environmental impact and promoting a healthier planet.

Sustainability is at the heart of our operations and purchasing decisions.

  • Thoughtful Purchasing & Construction: We consider energy use, product lifespan, end-of-life disposal, and the impact on natural resources in our purchasing decisions.
  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (or Donate): We prioritize waste reduction and responsible material use across all work areas.
  • Renewable Energy Transition: We are continually shifting towards renewable energy sources for our buildings and operations as we are able.
  • Reducing Plastic Waste: We actively seek and recommend sustainable alternatives to plastic, particularly eliminating single-use plastics wherever possible.
  • Water Conservation & Quality: Our facilities are designed to conserve water, enhance water quality, and manage stormwater sustainably while using the safest products.
  • Sustainable Transportation: We encourage cycling and public transit and use electric fleet vehicles to reduce our carbon footprint.

Sustainability is not just a goal, it’s a responsibility. We are dedicated to making choices that support a greener, more sustainable future for everyone.
