Returning Fire to the Landscape Workshop

Returning Fire to the Landscape with Cuauhtemoc Villa

Participants will learn how to create a microbial rich biochar and prepare a “compost tea” of Effective Microorganisms (EM). The techniques taught in this workshop can be applied to home gardens, and participants are encouraged to bring a bottle to take a sample of the “compost tea” so they can start their own home composting system.

About the presenter: Cuauhtemoc Villa is a Taino, Aztec, and Mayan living soil educator, regenerative farmer, and father. He is a friend of the microbes, a student of their ancient wisdom, and a teacher of their ways. For over 20 years Cuauhtemoc has partnered with the microbes using bokashi, biochar, and compost teas to grow resilient plants and bioremediate land and water.
