John started Sweet Fields Farm after spending the last three years managing a Stargazer Farm in Sandy, Oregon. In addition to market sales, John specializes in selling direct to Portland restaurants, meaning he produces high-quality, fresh produce for chefs that demand both traditional and obscure vegetables. John also works as the farm manager for The Lewis and Clark Montessori Charter School in Damascus. There he teaches kids to farm on a small scale at Circle of Friends Farm in Boring, and the school plans on developing a farm-to-school program for the community.
Food from the school farm and Sweet Fields Farm will also be used to supply seniors in the Damascus area through the HEAL/engAGE program. Produce from both farms will also be available at the Damascus Farmers Market and the Mississippi St. Farmers market in Portland.
