Heather joined EMSWCD in 2021. She brings her deep experience and community connections to the district’s grantmaking. For the past two years, Heather worked at the Regional Arts & Culture Council leading strategic communications and community engagement efforts that strengthened the organization’s brand, increased trust, and raised visibility through creative and inclusive storytelling. Previously Heather worked for Metro Parks and Nature where she established a track record of effectively engaging with community, government, business, and nonprofits in land conservation, habitat restoration, and access to nature initiatives. She works to transform organizations through equitable program and project management, inclusive practices, and public accountability.

Heather serves on EMSWCD’s staff-led Equity Team, which works to elevate EMSWCD’s awareness, sensitivity, and response to the equity concerns of our communities related to natural resource management and environmental justice. Reach out to Heather with questions or concerns about our equity work.
