2014-15 Strategic Conservation Investment Grants

The following is a list of the Strategic Conservation Investment grants awarded in the 2014-15 grant cycle.

Multnomah Education Service District: $225,000
Multnomah County Outdoor School

This grant will enable students in East Multnomah County to attend Outdoor School by supplementing school district and other funds. The Multnomah Education Service District operates Outdoor School for most school districts in Multnomah County.

Columbia Slough Watershed Council: $25,000

This grant provides general support for watershed restoration activities, education and outreach, and Council operations. The Columbia Slough Watershed Council works to restore the watershed and provide the community with opportunities to connect to the watershed. The Columbia Slough is a 60-mile long remnant of lakes, wetlands and slow-moving channels in the southern floodplain of the Columbia River.

Johnson Creek Watershed Council: $25,000

This grant provides general support for watershed restoration activities, education and outreach, and Council operations. The mission of the JCWC is to promote restoration and stewardship of a healthy Johnson Creek Watershed through sound science and community engagement. Johnson Creek flows from the headwaters near Boring, Oregon, over 25 miles to the Willamette River.

Sandy River Basin Watershed Council: $25,000

This grant provides general support for watershed restoration activities, education and outreach, and Council operations. The Sandy River begins on the west slopes of Mt. Hood, traveling 55 miles and flowing into the Columbia River near the City of Troutdale. The Council works to preserve water quality and to restore terrestrial and aquatic habitat for salmon and other wildlife as well as the enjoyment of future generations.
