Multnomah County
City of Gresham will conduct a rain garden site visit for any resident of the city. Call 503-618-2793.
In addition, the Gresham web site has a rain garden manual and sun/shade planting lists: www.greshamoregon.gov/watershed.
City of Portland also offers Stormwater Retrofit classes where people can learn many of the rain garden concepts. Their 2009 schedule can be found on their website. Portland also offers site visit for homeowners interested in rain gardens and other stormwater retrofits. This would be especially appropriate for folks on the west side where the slopes are significant and water saturated soils could present some instability issues. Clean Water Services For people who live in Washington County, Clean Water Services offers rain garden/downspout disconnect site visits through their Clean Water Hero Program, 503-681-4463.
