First I must offer a disclaimer: I am over 40 years of age - blogging is not yet second nature for me as it seems to be for my younger colleagues. Hoping that adjusts your expectations appropriately - welcome!
One of my aforementioned younger colleagues, Andru Grimm, suggested we add a blog to our website in order to keep our partners and clients up-to-date on some of the day-to-day challenges and accomplishments at EMSWCD. After Andru patiently defined his terms, I was sold.
Plant sale update - we're rapidly selling out of some of the most popular items so if you haven't ordered yet there's no time to lose. Kathy Shearin who leads our plan sale efforts already plans to order more stock next year, thank you for your interest in native plants and for spreading the word! Every year more native plants go home with folks to be planted at restoration projects and in home gardens where they help save water, provide wildlife habitat, and help folks avoid using toxics to keep their gardens gorgeous. Speaking of plant sale, we still need volunteers to help sort plants February 18th, 19th and 20th , no special expertise is needed, contact Katie Meckes if you would like to get involved with this fun event.
Don't forget, pick up this year will be at our new headquarters at 5211 N Williams Avenue.We're on the left between Sumner and Roselawn. If you get to Killingsworth you've gone too far. If you'd like to see the new place, stop by anytime between 9 and 5 on a weekday. Plant sale day probably isn't the best time for that -we'll be trying to get your plants to you as quickly as possible!
